Fall is the perfect time for apple pie, and you can put a campsite spin on this festive dessert. Here’s how!
Ingredients (per person)
- 1 apple
- 1 roasting stick
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Once you have your campfire or coals ready for cooking, push the roasting stick all the way through the apple. Keep the apple a few inches above the fire, rotating it slowly until the skin turns brown. Once the skin looks loose, take the apple off the fire and carefully peel off the skin using a fork or knife. Keep it on the stick.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll the roasted apple in the mixture, return it to the fire just long enough to caramelize the sugar, and then enjoy!
