Personal Health Benefits Of RVing
We are all looking for ways we can rest and recharge in today’s world of schedules and running from one thing to the next. But one thing that has not changed is the rejuvenation one receives from connecting with nature.
More and more studies are coming out with statistics showing the benefits of getting out into nature. Here at Fraserway, we’ve always known that, it’s one of the guiding principles behind our actions, one of the reasons we do what we do because there is no better way to connect with nature than traveling our beautiful country in an RV.
Did you know that just 20 minutes connected to nature can cause a drop in our stress hormones? One of the great aspects of RVing is the trip is not about just a destination, it is about the journey to get there. There are multiple opportunities to stop along the way, hikes to take, lakes to walk around, sites to see, and picnics to be had. At the same time, we are actively moving, setting up campsites, biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing and more, we are having so much fun we don’t even realize we’re actually exercising. The more exercise we get, the better we sleep. Out in nature, we tend to go to sleep with the setting sun and wake up with the sun rising, which resets our bodies to our natural sleep cycle.
As fun as RVing is, it’s better with friends and family. Many children are feeling the effects of more screen time than ever so being able to take the family and spend quality time together can be very restorative. The chance to spend time together without the everyday distractions can bring a renewed closeness and appreciation for each other. That leads to greater happiness in general and improved moods. The rise in digital device usage is at an all time high, and the effects of it are showing up in our ability to concentrate, remember and regulate emotions. Just a few days spent outside and away from screens can help bring balance back. It is also the perfect time to try something new. When we are stimulated by a new experience, things that challenge us both physically and mentally, it encourages healthy brain activity.
Our physical well-being is also affected by nature. It is very beneficial to healing, helping to support pain management, immune function and the healing process after surgery. The fresh air helps to clean our lungs which allows us to take deeper breaths. The Vitamin D produced by sunlight can provide us with the recommended daily amount needed for optimal health. When camping the ease of fast food is eliminated which encourages us to eat healthier and more whole foods.
As camping season starts up, it is the perfect time to get started on your dream RV trip. At Fraserway RV we can get you started, perhaps you are looking to rent before you buy, or maybe you are ready to take that step to owning your own vehicle to adventure.
