VANCOUVER, CANADA – A Winnebago Access from Fraserway RV has been modified to create a safe meeting place as part of a street ministry to at-risk youth in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES).
The faith-based ministry, Youth Unlimited, had the RV converted to accommodate teens and young adults who are faced with homelessness, poverty, addiction, and sexual exploitation. According to the ministry’s website, the mobile drop-in centre’s “focus is on building relationships, reputations and referrals.”
Two days a week, the Youth Unlimited team takes the RV to the DTES, sharing stories, sandwiches, and hot chocolate. “We are also a place of resource for these youth, helping them to connect to the services and programs that are needed help them move toward an abundant life,” says their website.
