13 RV DEALERSHIPS RAISE A TOTAL OF $670,059 IN 5 WEEKS FOR BC FIRE RELIEF EFFORTS
OCTOBER 16, 2017
CANADA – Canada’s largest RV dealer group far surpassed its fundraising goal for BC fire relief efforts and is celebrating the funds that will help rebuild the affected communities.
The RV dealerships in The Adventurer Group – Fraserway RV (Alta., B.C., N.S., Ont. and Y.T.), Country RV (B.C.) and Travelhome RV (B.C.) – set out to raise $500,000. In just five weeks, they raised a total of $670,059. Funds will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse Canada, Canadian Red Cross and other qualified registered community organizations that continue to work in the areas affected by the wildfires. The Company donated $100,000 specifically to Food Banks BC’s seven hardest hit communities: 100 Mile House, Quesnel, Prince George, Kelowna, Ashcroft/Cache Creek and Kamloops.
“I want to thank our customers, employees and supporters who made this possible,” says James Epp, owner of The Adventurer Group. “I am humbled by the overwhelming response to this goal, and we certainly celebrate the incredible results. We also acknowledge that the losses are still a tragic reality to those affected, and we understand that there is much work to be done in rebuilding these communities.”
The Adventurer Group raised these funds by:
• Donating $1,500 from every RV sold in B.C.
• Donating 10% of retail parts sold
• Donating 10% of retail rental bookings from our B.C. rental locations
• Donating $750 from every RV sold at any of our seven dealerships outside of B.C.
• Offering a $1,000 credit on an Adventurer Group Cash Card for evacuated or displaced residents purchasing an RV
• Matching donations dollar-for-dollar by 800+ employees within The Adventurer Group
“I also want to acknowledge all that Samaritan’s Purse Canada, Canadian Red Cross and other qualified community organizations have done and continue to do,” says Epp, adding that these organizations must meet the Adventurer Group’s standards prior to the release and allocation of the funds. “We are committed to ensuring that these funds will efficiently and effectively make a tangible difference in these tragic circumstances.”
“Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all of those affected by the fires,” said campaign spokesperson Amanda Henschell, for The Adventurer Group. “I want to thank and acknowledge the teams at all 13 participating dealerships for their contributions to these trusted organizations that are maintaining a strong presence in the effected areas.”
The Adventurer Group operates business units across Canada and continues to maintain their commitment that their customers’ vacation dreams are realized since 1969. Collectively, The Adventurer Group offers expertise in RV sales, parts, service and rentals.
